Dr. Pete’s Synopsis of the August 2024 Google Antitrust Decision

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’re well aware that Google has been in an antitrust case brought by U.S. Department of Justice. The judge in that case rendered a decision on August 5th, saying “Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly. It has violated Section 2 of the Sherman Act.” Dr. Pete Meyers from Moz wrote this terrific and VERY readable (even by non-SEO types) synopsis of what that’s likely to mean for search, both paid and organic.
